Day 5 - Friday 8/2/13 Nodine, MN - Wall, SD (574 Miles)

Spam Museum!
What can we say?
We like Spam.....
Wind mills as far as the eye could see.
Yes, there is a Spam Museum.  No, really! It's in Austin, MN home of 10,000 wind turbines and VERY flat dairy, cattle & corn farm land.  Of course, it took us a couple of hundred miles today to realize that all of the motorcycles we were passing seeing were headed to Sturgis, SD, our destination too, for the annual Bike Week.  Ugh.

Luckily, we were able to book some accommodations for the next 4 nights in the Rapid City, SD area so we could visit the Black Hills (The Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park).  We traveled through the easterly part of the Buffalo Gap National Grassland before arriving in Wall, SD where we  stayed at Frontier Cabins (offering Tepees as well).  Wall, SD is the home of Wall Drug, and not much else.
One of hundreds of Wall Drug
billboards stretching for 100's of
miles along I-90.
Wall, SD = Tourist Trap!
